A VIDEO diary shot by mountaineer Alan Hinkes as he became the first Briton to climb all 14 of the world's highest peaks will be screened next week.
Climb Every Mountain will be shown on ITV Tyne Tees at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
The documentary follows Mr Hinkes on his last two climbs, Dhaulagiri and Kangchenjunga, in Nepal.
He reached the summit of Kangchenjunga on May 30, becoming only the 13th mountaineer to have climbed all 14 of the world's 8,000m-plus peaks.
The feat took the 51-year-old, from Northallerton, North Yorkshire, 20 years to complete
He said: "I just think that it's fantastic that I'm alive. So many friends and acquaintances, people I know of, that have been killed even this year in the Himalaya and I just can't get over how fortunate I am, how lucky I feel."
