CHARITY bosses have thanked businesses for swinging into action to help raise more than £10,000 at an annual golf tournament.
The fourth Landteam charity golf day was held at the Blackwell Grange course, in Darlington, earlier this month.
And organisers were delighted to see the event exceed all expectations, raising a total of £10,100 for St Teresa's Hospice.
Thirty-two teams, made up of firms from across the UK, competed for the Rob Niven Memorial Trophy, which was won by McAteer Wilson.
Mr Niven was a patient at the hospice and helped launch its Giving to Life appeal in 2002.
Hospice director Jane Bradshaw said: "Such events are always a fun way of raising money for St Teresa's and the donation is received with thanks for the sheer hard work of the staff at Landteam and the generosity of local businesses. Our gratitude also goes out to all those who participated in the day and provided sponsorship and prizes, with a special mention to our host on the day, Blackwell Grange Golf Club.
