PEOPLE are to be given the opportunity to decide how they would like a local park to be improved.
Residents in Billingham are invited to a public meeting tonight to discuss future ideas for John Whitehead Park.
Establishing a friends group will be discussed and there will also be an opportunity for people to talk about possible plans for the park with Martin Jenkins, Stockton Borough Council's parks and countryside manager.
Friends groups have proved popular and successful at both Ropner Park and Newham Grange Park, in Stockton, where residents have had a large amount of input into refurbishments costing thousands of pounds.
The meeting about John Whitehead Park will be at 7pm, at Billingham Bowling Club at the park.
