A 12-YEAR-OLD boy from Darlington has been selected to take part in a national swimming competition.
Michael Robinson will swim butterfly in the English schools national swimming championships in Manchester later this month, representing both his school and county.
He is a pupil at Longfield School, a specialist sports college, and is looking forward to the challenge.
Michael has been swimming at the Dolphin Centre, in Darlington, since he was five.
He said: "I swim every day except Saturday and feel really pleased to be chosen."
The contest will be held in Manchester on October 21 and 22.
