A NORTH Yorkshire scientist has won the highest award in his field.
The International Carbohydrate Organisation is to present the Roy L Whistler International Award for 2006 to Professor Gideon Davies, of York University.
Prof Davies is only the second UK scientist to win the award, which recognises contributions of excellence in carbohydrate chemistry and biochemistry.
Prof Davies will receive the accolade at the 23rd International Carbohydrate Symposium, in Canada, next July, where he give a lecture.
