POLICE are appealing for help finding a man who conned a hotel owner out of hundreds of pounds.
The man stayed at the Tudor Lodge on Turner Street, Redcar, earlier this month and told staff he fitted bathrooms. He offered to do some work and was given the cash for materials. He then disappeared.
Pub and hotel landlords in the area have been warned to be on their guard.
The man is described as 5ft 6ins tall with a stocky but smart appearance. He had dark eyes and short, thick, dark hair. He was clean shaven with bushy eyebrows and had a Scottish accent.
The man is thought to be in his late forties and was wearing a green army-style round neck T-shirt and matching trousers.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Katy Allen on (01642) 302626.
