THE family of a teenage father who died after his car plunged down a cliff visited the scene of the accident yesterday.
Relatives and friends of 18-year-old Luke Demsey made the trip from Liverpool to lay flowers at Pinker's Pond, near Middleham, North Yorkshire.
The teenager, whose partner recently gave birth to a baby boy, was driving a Ford Escort when it went over the cliff on Tuesday night. He was taken to the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, where he later died.
Another youth suffered serious injuries, although they are not thought to be life threatening.
Two other passengers escaped with cuts and bruises.
Firefighters had to cut two people from the wreckage of the car and all four were taken to the Friarage Hospital.
It is understood Mr Demsey moved to North Yorkshire from Liverpool less than a year ago.
He lived in Middleham with his partner, Claire Beresford, and worked at the Wensleydale Creamery, in Hawes.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0845 60 60 247.
