YOUNGSTERS at a North Yorkshire pre-school had an exciting start to their new term.
Romanby Pre-school, near Northallerton, enjoyed a visit from local police community support officer Angie Preston and traffic warden Brian Tongue.
They brought with them a police van which the children could explore, as well as uniforms and hats to try on.
"The children had a wonderful afternoon making friends with our local police officers, who were great with them, putting them at ease and giving them pictures to colour in and leaflets and balloons to take home," said play leader Deborah Howard.
She added: "Visits like this help children to learn more about the people in the community who are there to help them, like our friendly local police officers."
