STUDENTS are being given the chance to win prizes worth more than £1,000 in a free competition.
The University of Teesside has joined forces with Middlesbrough's Hillstreet shopping centre to bring students a Something For Nothing competition where they can win gadgets and vouchers to help them through their year at university.
Three students will each win £500 towards accommodation, a laptop, an ipod, a mobile phone complete with bluetooth, £100 of book tokens, £100 media vouchers and £100 clothes vouchers.
The entries will be divided into first year, second year and final year students, with a winner to be chosen from each category, on October 8, at Hillstreet shopping centre.
The first 500 students to enter will also get a voucher from Bakers Oven.
Flyers are being handed out during Freshers Week and university registration.
Students are asked to fill in their details on the flyer and hand it in to Hillstreet shopping centre to take part.
