POLICE are seeking a mystery helper who called an ambulance after a man was attacked.
A man in his 60s, and described by police as vulnerable, had been drinking in Redcar on September 21 and was on his way to the police station to report an incident.
As he neared the station, at 9.30pm, he was attacked from behind with a blow to the head. The man fell down and was kicked in the head and back until he passed out.
He was taken to The James Cook University Hospital after a call was made to the ambulance service. He was detained overnight and released the next morning.
