A GROUP of Darlington teenagers spent two days looking around Oxford University.
The visit was organised by the Government's Aimhigher initiative.
Among those who attended was 16-year-old Jonathan Murray, a student at Carmel RC Technology College.
He said: "My ambition is now to go on to study at Oxford University. It is such a scenic and atmospheric place. It inspires you to want to learn."
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student Lucy Madden said: "I had thought about higher education, but going on the visit made me sure that it is for me. I've now got a definite aim."
Fellow sixth former Louise Jayne Watson said: "As a result of the visit, I'm now determined to do as well as I can in my A-levels so I can enter a fantastic university like Oxford."
Aimhigher co-ordinator Angela Jorgenson said: "The trip broke down preconceptions and barriers and showed them what student life is like."
