PEOPLE in Bowburn will be asked their views on the area's regeneration at a consultation day tomorrow.
The event, in Bowburn Community Centre, Durham Road, runs from 3pm to 8pm and is open to residents of Bowburn, Parkhill, Old Quarrington and Tursdale.
It will be attended by the Halsall Lloyd Partnership, developers Keepmoat and Haslam Homes, the Three Rivers housing association and Durham City Council, which make up a partnership.
Council chief executive Brian Spears said: "It's important that at the end of this consultation the partnership knows exactly what the people of the community want for their area.
"We also need to know if there are any concerns they have about the plans."
Among the topics of discussion will be the vacant former Cape Asbestos site.
Representatives of the joint owners of this site, Commercial Estates Group and Hallam Land Management, will attend to look at initial views on how the site's redevelopment could assist with the wider regeneration proposals for the area.
Anyone who would like to be involved in the consultation but is unable to attend is asked to call John Tindale, the council's economic and community development manager, on 0191-301 8241.
