FORMER rescue dog Bessie has proved such a hit at a North-East car dealership that she has been made an honorary member of staff.
The four-year-old has become a regular feature at the Sherwoods garage, in Chesnut Street, Darlington, since first appearing with painting and decorating contractor Ted Barlow.
And she received special treatment as the firm marked National Take Your Dog to Work Day recently.
Mr Barlow, who has worked with Sherwoods for 20 years, said: "Bessie lends a paw whenever she can, but usually she's on the hunt for food or friendship.
"She was an instant hit the first time she came to work with me at Sherwoods and everyone is always on the lookout for her when I pull up in my van."
