Youths in bank rescue drama: TWO youths had to be rescued at the weekend after getting stuck at the bottom of a bank late at night.
Fire crews were called to the rear of the Station Hotel, in Station Road, Loftus, after reports that the youths were unable to climb back up the embankment. One appliance from Saltburn attended and officers managed to rescue the youngsters using a long board. They were checked over by waiting ambulance crews, but were not thought to be seriously hurt.
Flat fire: A woman was rescued by firefighters after a blaze broke out in a block of flats. Officers were called from Redcar, Saltburn and Skelton to the property in Amber Street, Saltburn, shortly after 10.30pm on Friday. No one was hurt.
Sewing Event: Guisborough and district branch of the Embroiderers' Guild is holding its monthly meeting in Sunnyfield House, Westgate, Guisborough, on Saturday, at 1.45pm. The speaker will be Jane Rogers and her subject is Stumpwork Old and New. Everyone is welcome.
