A WOMAN who hopes to get ahead with her range of hats and hairpieces held an exhibition of her work over the weekend.
Donna Thurkettle held an exhibition of more than 50 creations at Beaconsfield Court nursing home, in Galgate, Barnard Castle.
Ms Thurkettle, of Cotherstone, is an assistant cook at the home, but hopes to set up her own millinery business.
"It was an exhibition of hats and fascinators," said Ms Thurkettle, who studied embroidery at the University of Cumbria.
"I had quite a few sales and it was quite busy. I also got a few commissions."
