A DENTAL crisis in a North Yorkshire town has been eased after new owners have taken over a surgery.
More than 200 people in Selby have had letters sent to their homes announcing their wait for a dentist is over.
The people were all former patients of dentist Paul Kelsey, who closed his New Lane surgery after working three years past his retirement to avoid letting patients down.
However, he was unable to find a partner to help him run the practice.
When the surgery closed in May, about 5,000 patients were left without a dentist.
Although many transferred to different practices, the 200 or so remaining patients will be transferred to new owners Palbir Grewal and Jagit Gakhal, of Bradford.
The announcement means there will officially be no waiting list for dentists in Selby - although it is believed there may be many people who have not registered on the waiting list.
