SICK and injured children visiting a hospital's accident and emergency department will now be given a cuddly lion to help comfort them.
Members of Northallerton and District Lioness Club visited the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, to hand over the fluffy toys to staff.
The club raises money to help local organisations. Lioness president Jenny Bell said: "We like to be able to help local good causes and we thought A&E would be an ideal place for our Joy lions to benefit the community and promote the club too.
We hope the children enjoy them and they help to make their visit more pleasant."
