A FORMER village gardener and a mayor were among the winners at the Sedgefield and District Rose Society show last week.
Long-serving gardener Les Parrish took the Albert Blakey Salver for most points in the rose classes.
The Christine Booth Trophy, for a table arrangement, went to the Mayor of Sedgefield, Maxine Robinson.
Mathew Waite won the Harkness Cup for best exhibit of HT roses in a vase or box.
The Garden News Shield for five chrysanthemums was won by Barry Stephenson and the Frank Pratt trophy for most points in dahlia classes went to Peter Dawson.
The Eyles Bowl for best exhibit in floral art classes and the WW Turnbull Cup for most points in the floral art section were both won by Ann Oliver.
