SHOPPERS will be able to use a new bus stop in Darlington town centre from Monday.
The 16 and 31 services to Mowden will now drop off and pick up from stand C, at the corner of Northgate and Crown Street.
The change was made in response to requests from members of the public who had been using the new bus stop in Tubwell Row because of traffic alterations made this week in preparation for the pedestrian heart scheme.
Bus stops were moved earlier this month to divert large volumes of traffic away from the town centre, ahead of work starting on the £6.5m project.
Following the changes, some passengers asked for the Mowden services to be able to use stand C and, after consultation with the bus companies, the decision was made to add the extra stop to the two services.
Nick Wallis, the council's cabinet member for transport, said: "We have listened to what people have said about the pedestrian heart and made these changes in response to the views we have heard."
