A HAIRDRESSER has been inspired by her sister's illness to donate a day's takings to charity.
Every penny earned by Charlotte Metcalfe on October 21 will go to Breast Cancer Care.
Mrs Metcalfe, 29, who runs a salon at her home in Aiskew, near Bedale, said: "My sister, Shaney Cooper, has just started chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time.
"The thing she's worrying about most is losing her hair so this is kind of appropriate."
Mrs Metcalfe's mother, Anne Evans, also suffered from breast cancer ten years ago.
The hairdresser plans to cut between ten and 20 people's hair on the day.
She intends to work into the night if necessary and hopes to raise more than £100.
