ONE of Middlesbrough's top DJs is playing to the sound of success as he enters the next stage of a global talent competition.
After successfully securing the North-East title in the Movida Corona DJ competition, Marcus Wedgewood is preparing to take to the decks to become the world's top DJ.
The 27-year-old has been a resident DJ at Hush, in Albert Road, Middlesbrough for two years, where he treats clubbers to his blend of funky and Latin house, which he plans to play at the final.
He said: "I aim to create the best atmosphere by providing tunes that people love to hear - it's the best way to get them involved."
If he succeeds in the next final, which will be at Leeds, next Friday, he will then be travelling to London to compete in the national final.
Judged by professional representatives and sponsors of the competition on their technique and talents, the winner will then go up against DJs from across the globe to be crowned the world's best DJ.
