A TEN-WEEK course is about to begin that may lead to a water polo team being created.
The training, for eight to 12-year-olds, organised by Hartlepool Borough Council and Hartlepool Swimming Club, will be held at the Mill House Leisure Centre.
The first session will be on Tuesday, from 7pm to 8pm. It follows on from water polo sessions in the summer.
Sports development manager Andrew Pearson said: "The intention is to form a team to represent the town and play in competitions."
Coaching will be given by former international player, Hartlepool-born Lee Cook.
Each session costs £1.50 and places can be booked by calling the Mill House Leisure Centre on (01429) 223791.
Alternatively, youngsters can simply turn up at next week's first session.
