VILLAGE residents were complimented by judges in a parish council garden competition.
Mike and Pat Birch, from the Arcadia Garden Centre, near Stokesley, praised the high standard of entries in Wolsingham Parish Council's second annual competition.
Winners were presented with cups and vouchers by council chairman John Anderson.
They were: Gardens - 1 Mrs M Raynor, 2 Mr V Crooks, 3, Mr R Hope, Mr J Pickering and Mr N Weston; containers - 1 Mr V Gray, 2 Mrs S Lister, 3 Mr F Bell and Mrs J Henderson; best allotment - Ms C Tennick; most improved allotment - Mrs V Routledge.
Councillor Vivien Welsh said: "It was organised by the parish council in recognition of all the hard work and effort local gardeners put in."
