A PUB has earned itself an industry award after going smoke-free last month.
The Plimsoll Line pub, in Redcar, which banned smoking on its premises last month, has received a National Clean Air Award.
Emma Maxwell, duty manager of the Plimsoll Line, said: "We're very happy to be receiving this award. Our team are much happier working in a smoke-free environment and our customers enjoy the fresh atmosphere in the pub."
The pub's ban on smoking comes two years ahead of the Government's ban on smoking in pubs which serve food.
If other organisations in Redcar and Cleveland wish to apply for an award, they can call (01642) 777737.
