A COUNTRY fair takes place this weekend to raise money for a charity.
The fifth annual British Red Cross Country Fair is at Whitworth Hall Country Park, between Brancepeth Village and Spennymoor, from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday.
Visitors will be entertained by brass bands and Northumbrian pipers. They can visit a marquee containing stalls offering everything from coal sculptures to cakes. There will also be an open leek, vegetable and flower show.
Admission is £2 for adults, £1.50 for senior citizens, free for accompanied children.
