A GRANTS scheme for businesses is set to be extended.
The Supporting Innovations Service (SIS) has already helped 75 businesses in North Yorkshire.
The scheme is administered by North Yorkshire County Council and Business Link York and North Yorkshire.
The funding is provided by Yorkshire Forward and the European Regional Development Fund.
Councillor John Fort, the county council's executive member for community services, said: "This has been a highly successful initiative for the local economy and has enabled many businesses to develop their business ideas.
"Businesses have taken advantage of a wide range of consultancy support, including the development of marketing plans, product development, implementation of new financial systems and e-commerce strategies.
"We hope more businesses will continue to recognise the benefit of this type of support and will take advantage of further funding opportunities in the future."
One of the firm's to receive a grant was rope and braid makers, WR Outhwaite and Son, in Hawes.
The company developed a new secure fastening with the help of a grant.
Business owner Dr Peter Annison said: "These small targeted grants are a real support and encouragement for businesses to translate their ideas into a commercial reality."
If further funding is secured, grants of up to £3,750 could be available to businesses.
Firms must employ less than 250 people, have a turnover of less than £35m and have a balance sheet of no more than £28m to be eligible.
