EXTRA police will be patrolling the streets of Hambleton today as the district stages another No Crime Day.
Persistent offenders will be targeted by the police, the mobile community police office will be deployed opposite Stokesley town hall to help deter anti-social behaviour and the licensing officer will visit pubs in areas where there has been trouble.
Detectives will double-crew with road policing officers on major routes in and out of Hambleton, providing a visible deterrent to travelling criminals and carrying out stop-checks when appropriate.
Acting Inspector Peter Walker said: "This is a day-long blitz involving a range of policing disciplines. The most important element, though, is the involvement of the community.
"We want people living in Hambleton to be our extra eyes and ears, and together we can reduce and deter as much crime as possible."
