A COMPANY selling locally-grown organic produce has announced plans to open a shop.
Farmaround Limited created 40 jobs when it moved from London to the Gallowfields Trading Estate, in Richmond, earlier this year.
The company, which offers door-to-door deliveries of organic fruit and vegetables, plans to open a shop in the town next month.
It has also started offering its produce on a wholesale basis to organisations such as schools and hospitals.
Yesterday, Farmaround was promoting itself at the Natural Trade Show, in Harrogate.
Stuart Parsons, the firm's event organiser, said: "About 75 per cent of the produce comes from North Yorkshire.
"The food isn't swamped in gallons of poisons, it doesn't damage the environment and, unlike supermarkets, we offer our suppliers a proper outlet which will take all their produce, no matter what size or shape."
As well as fruit and vegetables, the firm works with the Wensleydale Creamery and Swaledale Cheese to offer dairy products.
