A NEW one-stop shop has opened, offering people all their council services under one roof.
It is the latest phase of a £7m community complex for Stokesley which also houses a new library and resource centre, office facilities, meeting rooms and extra-care apartments.
The joint Hambleton District Council, North Yorkshire County Council and Broadacres Housing Association scheme came into operation this summer when the first residents began moving into their flats.
Residents from Springfield House residential home, in the town, were transferred to the Town Close apartments, which have 24-hour care and communal facilities.
The one-stop shop is able to handle all existing services, from paying a bill to collecting a car park disc. Surgeries are also planned for specific services.
It also houses a remote contact centre, which can link directly with the main offices at the Civic Centre, in Northallerton, to answer more detailed queries, including on planning or licensing matters.
The office, in North Road, is open from 8.45am to 5.15pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 8.45am to 4.45pm on Fridays.
