EXCAVATOR manufacturer Komatsu, in Birtley, near Chester-le-Street, has appointed a logistics manager.
NEIL GIBSON, 40, from Stanley, County Durham, was a logistics manager with car components company Magna Kansei, in Sunderland.
He will be responsible for warehousing, inventory, and parts scheduling management alongside managing the supply of materials to production.
Mr Gibson has more than 15 years experience in the car industry - supplying car companies that include Land Rover, Nissan, Honda, Jaguar and Rover.
Komatsu UK is the European market leader in the manufacture of excavators, with a product portfolio of 18 machines ranging in size from 13 to 75 tonnes. It exports about 75 per cent of its products to Europe, North Africa and the US, and employs 720 staff.
