CAMPAIGNERS fighting plans to close Hurworth School have called for a meeting with councillors.
The Save Hurworth and Rural Education group (Share) has invited all Darlington Borough councillors to a meeting to look again at their proposals to merge the school with Eastbourne School at a new campus in Yarm Road.
Share spokesman Ian Holme said: "We have had offers of help and support from across the political spectrum, which is most welcome. However, as a non-political parent-led organisation, we feel it essential to maintain an even-handed approach to the political parties.
"To that end we have invited all councillors, of all parties, to meet us next week."
