PARENTS of pupils in their last year of primary school are being warned to get their children's names down for a place at secondary school.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council will no longer automatically allocate a place for children due to start in September, next year.
Forms have already been sent out from primary schools, together with information on how to apply for a secondary school place and how places are decided.
Parents need to complete a form even if the child lives in the admission area for the preferred school or has a sibling attending the school. The form must be returned by October, 24.
If forms are not returned or are returned late parents may miss out on the chance of getting their preferred school and children may be allocated a place in the next school nearest to their home with spare places.
If parents have not received a form, or need assistance, they can contact (01642) 444110 or (01642) 444109 for more information
