MORE than 1,000 schoolchildren are to attend workshops next week as part of an on-going drive to reduce anti-social behaviour in Hartlepool.
The Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Day (Asbad), organised by the Hartlepool Anti-Social Behaviour Unit, under the umbrella of the Safer Hartlepool Partnership, aims to raise youngsters' awareness of anti-social behaviour and the impact it can have on communities.
It is to take place in the Borough Hall, on the Headland, from Tuesday to Friday. Every year eight pupil in the town is being offered the opportunity to attend.
The event is made up of a series of workshops on different aspects of anti-social behaviour, including group intimidation, bonfires and fireworks and bullying.
Anti-Social Behaviour Officer Rebecca Buttery, who has organised the event, said: "The aim of this event is to get every year eight pupil in Hartlepool to think more about their behaviour and help them to become good citizens."
