A RED carpet will be rolled out in the North-East tomorrow for film stars and Newcastle United players attending the regional premiere of Goal!

The film is being shown at The Gate in Newcastle following its national premiere in London on Thursday night.

Geordie stars such as Ant and Dec and other celebrities have been invited to attend but organisers are remaining tight-lipped about who exactly will be there on the night.

Celebrities are expected to start arriving from 7pm and the film will begin at 8.30pm before a private party at Shearer's Bar, near St James Park.

United players will have to rush back from their game against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday. A club spokesman could not say which players would be attending.

She said: "There will be members of the first team, the reserves and the back room staff.

"We won't know until after the match who it is going to be. If a player gets injured it could change things significantly.

"But I can say members of the first team are coming back especially for the film."

The film follows a Latino footballer who helps United become one of the best teams in Europe.

For the London premiere, Alan Shearer was joined by members of the cast headed by Kuno Becker.

The movie goes on general release on September 30.
