AN event is being organised to introduce the public to amenities at a Stockton park.
The Friends of Ropner Park will hold the event on Sunday, September 25, from 2pm to 4pm, when the cafe in the pavilion and a children's play area will be open to the public for the first time.
The Friends are running the cafe on a non-profit-making basis. Initially, it will open only on Sundays, but plans are in place to open the cafe more frequently in the future.
Visitors at the event will also be entertained by the St John Ambulance Band and take part in games and a treasure hunt.
There will also be a book stall, cake stall, tombola and coconut shy.
The Friends aim to encourage more people to use the park.
