Reality TV star Sarah Gregory might not have won Ladette To Lady, but she has gone from ladette to chef.

The 23-year-old was meant to transform from a "lager-necker" into a refined "laydee" fit to grace aristocracy.

Instead, she has found her dream job as a chef after trying cordon bleu cooking in the ITV1 series.

Now she's landed a job at restaurant Cafe 21 in her home town, Newcastle.

She was taken on as an apprentice and is now enrolled on a food preparation course at Newcastle College.

Sarah said: "I can't believe how much my life has changed over the past few months. Up until appearing on the show and taking part in the cooking, I really didn't think I would ever find a job I wanted for life.

"Now I have a job I am passionate about and I even get paid to study."

Prior to the show, Sarah was unemployed and had been caring for her grandmother for two-and-a-half years. But by agreeing to participate in the series, she openly declared herself as one of the nation's proudest ladettes.

The five-week series aimed to teach the ten ladettes the etiquette, manners and social graces of ladies under the glare of some of the country's foremost finishing tutors, at Eggleston Hall, in County Durham.

The show was a steep climb for Sarah, but she said it gave her the confidence to strive towards something new.

Head chef at Cafe 21 Chris Dobson said: "I really admired Sarah for just walking in off the street and talking about her passion for cooking."
