THE discovery of a man's body under a JCB on a disused farm is being investigated.
Police and firefighters were called to Combe Bank Farm, Boosbeck, near Guisborough, on Tuesday, just before 10pm, where they found the body of a 32-year-old man trapped underneath machinery inside a barn.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious, but said an investigation is under way.
A spokeswoman said relatives have been informed, but the man's identity was not being made public at present.
The property has not been operating as a farm for some time.
A Cleveland Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: "We assisted police with lighting at the incident and helped extricate the body from underneath the JCB. The man was dead at the scene."
A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive said: "Inspectors have visited the scene but, at present, there is no indication that this was a work-related incident. It's a matter for police investigation."
