DETECTIVES are still hunting a motorcyclist whose dangerous riding led to the death of another biker.
Ralph Snowdon, 67, from Riccall, near York, was killed on May 28 when his machine was forced from the road by a black-helmeted rider travelling at high speed.
The tragedy happened on the B1257 Helmsley to Stokesley road, near Chop Gate. The rogue rider, on a red sports-style machine, sped off without stopping.
Police, appalled by the actions of the hit-and-run biker, launched an inquiry in the wake of the tragedy.
Towards the end of June, a 28-year-old man from the Thirsk area was arrested in connection with the case.
His bail was then extended to allow further inquiries to be made, but that bail has since been cancelled.
However, police yesterday insisted their inquiry was still "very active" and renewed their appeals for clues to the crash.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0845 60 60 247.
