A GLASS thrown across a crowded nightclub put two people in hospital, a court was told.
Christopher Stephenson denied throwing the glass in the Time nightspot, in King's Road, Harrogate, in the early hours of December 11, last year.
But he was found guilty of two charges of assault after a trial and sentenced to do 140 hours of community work.
He will also have to pay £200 costs and £200 each to his victims, Stuart Deaton and Natalie Adams.
Catherine Knowles, prosecuting at Harrogate Magistrates' Court, said Mr Deaton had earlier been threatened by 20-year-old Stephenson and a group of his friends.
Witnesses saw Stephenson throw the glass towards Mr Deaton. It hit him on the back of his head and smashed, sending shards of glass into the air, hitting Miss Adams.
Mr Deaton was taken to Harrogate and District Hospital for treatment to a head wound.
Miss Adams sought medical help the next day to get pieces of glass removed from cuts to her right arm and left wrist.
The court heard that Stephenson, a joiner, of Lincoln Grove, Harrogate, maintained his innocence of any offence.
