AN entrepreneur who invented a trolley to move recycling bins has been helped to promote her business.
The North-East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC), in Sunderland, has opened a department to help new business owners and promote and market their enterprises.
Former building society worker, Steph Chamberlin, 56, from Cleadon Village, South Tyneside, approached BIC advisors two years ago with her Wheela Trolley prototype, which has since been developed and manufactured by Remploy, in Ashington, Northumberland.
The trolley is aimed particularly at the elderly or infirm and makes it easier to move recycling bins. Ms Chamberlin had the idea after suffering back problems most of her adult life.
Trolleys are being tested in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Bromley and Banbury.
