PLANS to extend drinking hours at a Teesside golf club have been approved, despite opposition from two doctors.
Stockton Borough Council's licensing committee gave the go-ahead to Wynyard Golf Club's application to extend its licence to 1.30am, Thursday to Saturday, and host music and discos until 2am.
But the hospital doctors who objected to the plan, said it could affect their treatment of patients.
Consultants Dr Sarup Tayal and his wife Dr Santosh Guota, whose home backs on to the club, are concerned that music until the early hours could disrupt their sleep.
Managing director of the golf club, Gary Munro, said: "We have done everything we possibly can to ease people's concerns over this and we will continue to consult with residents."
