A DARLINGTON hospice is celebrating after receiving more than £2,000, thanks to shoppers at a town supermarket.
Staff at Asda, in Whinbush Way, were given an incentive by yogurt company Muller to increase sales of its products.
For every percentage point of increased sales, Muller awarded the store £10, which built up in aid of the supermarket's chosen charity.
Staff and customers managed to raise £2,370, which has been donated to St Teresa's Hospice.
Hospice director Jane Bradshaw said: "We are extremely grateful for their help in raising this amount. They must have sold a lot of yogurts."
