YOUNG people turned out in force in a determined bid to clean up their community.
The youngsters, from Trimdon Station and Deaf Hill, were taking part in a litter-pick as part of Groundwork East Durham's Sorted II programme.
The project was launched to help deal with anti-social behaviour hotspots, by engaging young people in a structured programme of personal and social development.
By giving young people a real role in their community, it is believed that anti-social behaviour will be dramatically reduced.
In Trimdon and Deaf Hill, those taking part in the scheme have shown a keen interest in their local environment and were enthusiastic about cleaning up the community.
