Organisers of a revamped horticultural show hailed the event a resounding success.
Peter Thompson, chairman of the organising committee for the Durham show, said: "The event was a success, with more entries and more entrants that last year. We had 760 entries altogether.
"We are looking forward to an even greater participation next year."
The venue for the event, featuring a range of categories, including crafts, cookery, floristry, embroidery and soft toys, was County Hall, at Aykley Heads, Durham City.
The event, which has run for 30 years, was known as the annual autumn produce show, but Durham City Council cancelled it last year.
A committee was formed to take over the event, renamed the Durham Horticultural and Craft Show, and a venue and backing was given by Durham County Council.
