YOUNG families celebrated the success of their local SureStart centre with a party.
Mothers, fathers, children and staff from the Wear Valley SureStart Busy Base Centre at Eldon, near Bishop Auckland, threw a party to celebrate the second birthday of the Mams and Dads (Mad) group.
The group gives young parents the chance to get together with others in the same situation and also helps them toward new qualifications and to explore options for the future.
Community engagement worker Donna Atkinson, from Wear Valley SureStart, said: "We had a morning of pampering sessions, including Indian head massages and a buffet lunch, as well as games and entertainment for the children.
"There have been five or six groups taking part in the Mad scheme and we wanted to get them all together to celebrate its success."
