A MOTORIST has been charged with three counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
Michael Logan, 26, of Dacre Gardens, Consett, County Durham, will appear at the town's magistrates' court next Thursday.
He is accused of causing a car crash in which a taxi driver and a married couple died.
A Citroen Xantia car driven by Mr Logan was involved in an accident with a taxi on the A692 in Consett at 6.50pm on May 22.
Margaret Murray, 53, of Castleside, near Consett, died in hospital a week after the accident.
Her husband, Michael, also 53, and taxi driver Michael Stewart, 39, of Moorside, Consett, also died.
