A PUDDING made to a secret, century-old recipe has been honoured in this year's Great Taste Awards.
The traditional plum pudding with Hennessey Cognac, made by Lewis and Cooper, of Northallerton, was named reserve champion in the best Yorkshire speciality category.
The awards took place on Monday in London when members of the Regional Food Group for Yorkshire and the Humber won 73 medals.
Elizabeth Halsall, of the regional food group, said: "Yorkshire won a remarkable number of medals this year and having such a prominent presence at the Great Taste Awards is really the seal of approval for Yorkshire's food industry.
"These awards are a perfect opportunity to raise the profile of the fantastic regional food available in the county."
The awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food Retailers, are known as the Oscars of the food industry
