THREE men needed hospital treatment after a disturbance following a town's annual agricultural show at the weekend.
The 226th Wolsingham Show was nearly trouble-free, according to organisers - but there was an incident in the town centre on Saturday night.
A scuffle broke out near Wolsingham Workingmen's Club, which left three men with head injuries.
Detective Constable Andy Crowe, of Bishop Auckland police, said: "There was a disturbance or assault which took place inside the entrance of the foyer of the club, in the middle part of Saturday evening.
"Two men were injured and taken to Bishop Auckland General Hospital for treatment to head injuries."
He said the third man was admitted to hospital later in the evening, but all three were later allowed home.
Det Con Crowe said it was likely there were many witnesses to the incident due to the number of people attending the show.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Darren Cresswell, at Bishop Auckland police station, on 0845 60 60 365.
