students and school staff stepped into the limelight to raise £1,000 for charity.
Pupils and teachers at Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College held a Stars In Your Eyes show at the end of last term in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The winners were Paul Rothwell, 13, who sang Is This The Way To Amarillo, and Stephanie Grimes, also 13, who sang Leanne Rimes' Looking Through Your Eyes.
English teacher Siobham McCavanagh, who with music teacher Andrew Whisker organised the event, said: "We did a similar event at Christmas and they are so popular and such good fun we hope to make them a regular event."
Yesterday, the winning pupils and headteacher Phil Bowden presented the proceeds of the event to Lindsay Kay from the charity.
She said: "This money will help fund our vital breast cancer research, and has helped us achieve our target of £1m."
