FRUSTRATED Martin Scott has vowed to lift Hartlepool United's season - with plenty of hard work.
Pool suffered a home defeat to Yeovil at the weekend and have yet to win in four attempts at Victoria Park.
Scott is upset by the start to his first full season in management but, after just seven league games, insists there is no need for an over reaction to the disappointing opening.
He takes his side to Blackpool this weekend and said: "I will back my players 110 per cent and we need the fans behind us like that.
"They are frustrated, but nobody is more frustrated at this moment in time than me and Steve Agnew - and we are putting in 24 hours a day to turn it around.
"We need the supporters now more than ever. We need five, six thousand right behind us for 90 minutes.
"I accept it's the players' responsibility to get the crowd lifted, I agree with that. We need total backing from start to finish.
"If we stick together we will come through it."
He added: "Of course there is a determination to come through this. It is hurting big style. If it's not hurting anyone in the squad, they won't last here very long.
"How do we learn from Saturday? It started on Monday morning in training. I will battle, fight and scrap as much as I can.''
Pool have been criticised by fans for not playing the attractive football that has become their trademark in recent seasons.
Scott, however, insisted that any notions of his squad preferring the long ball game are way off the mark.
He said: "Collectively and individually, I want players with the bollocks to turn it round.
"I want players who will get their foot on the ball and pass it, not lump it long because it isn't us.
"It's not us a team or what I want as a manager. In training it's all about passing drills and possession, crossing into the box for strikers to score, it's enjoyable. But they are not taking responsibility on to the pitch. I want players who will stand up and be counted."
l Pool reserves play Darlington reserves at Billingham Town tomorrow night (7pm).
